Leaving Alta we headed east towards Finland. Almost immediately on leaving the coast, the countryside changed. Different rocks, different trees - entirely different landscape. Within an hour we had climbed up to what felt like high plains and started to see lakes, lakes . . .
Found a place to stay on the highway and awoke the next morning to okay temperature but still overcast skies. 30 minutes later, looked out and it was snowing, 15 minutes later it was really snowing . . .
