Lynne "vibed" us last night and advised that the ship was in the Mediterranean. Checked it out in the morning [Anzac Day] and here it is on a weather observation website.

Having finally decided to go, we dilly-dallied around getting ready. Then were concerned about the measurements and measured the truck twice to satisfy ourselves it would fit in the container. In the end the only issue was the rear roof height. By having the water tanks filled and deflating the rear tyres to about 30 psi we gained an extra 30mm.
12th March was the day to deliver the truck to the shipping agent and had all our tools ready to remove bits if necessary e.g. mirrors. Organised Guy to help and rolled up to the depot only to be told that no, we wouldn't be doing any of the work and wouldn't even see it go in the box. Handed over the keys and left - very unsettling as this was not like any other story we had heard. Anyway, apparently it is in a box and departed Brisbane on Sat 15 March for Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle and then Singapore by OOCL Panama. Final destination Southampton - hopefully on time by 3rd May 2014. |
