A truck for us
We have towed camping trailers around various parts of Australia for the last 15 years - a Trek, an Aussie Swag and an Ultimate Camper. In our mid 50's we started to consider a small off-road caravan. Fate intervened and after watching friends acquire an expedition truck for their first overland odyssey through SE Asia, China, Mongolia, parts of some "stan"s, Russia and Turkey - we veered in an entirely different direction to a truck.There were several production vehicles readily available to us - All Terrain Warriors, Earthcruiser, SLR and Amesz - but we decided to have a body built to our specific design.
Fate smiled on us again and we "stumbled" onto Gemhunter Custom Off-Road Caravans who were prepared to take on the challenge of a project a little outside their normal work. Obviously building custom off-road caravans brought a lot of ready experience to the task but integration with the vehicle and some of our specific requests posed new challenges.
All Terrain Warriors (Yandina QLD) provided the new truck, suspension upgrade including super single rims plus truck seating modification, cabin cut out and rubber boot and body mounting system - and a lot of helpful advice and follow-up adjustment of the final vehicle.
